Portion control Plates
As we have been made aware, many of our patients struggle to use the portion plate we provide for a number of reasons, and therefore it regularly sits in the back of the cupboard, or left in the car the day it has been given to them!
It has been reported to us, that often it appears 'childish' with the writing and images, or it highlights to others who may be dining with them that they need help with their eating, or even that with all of the words it becomes confusing as to what eating behaviours they should be having at that time.
So we decided to come up with our own SOS designed plates to encourage patients to use something that will actually help control their portions and assist with changing eating behaviours, without it being as obvious to the rest of the family or those they are dining with.
There are six designs to choose from, and these can be purchased individually if you wish to have more than one or if you want them as a set, or even for other members of the family that may also wish to have some assistance with portion size. The plates will come with a small card that describes their use and the allocated portions of protein, salad, vegetables and carbohydrates.
